Notes:
Well the excitement of NY District continued on Thursday night, with the
50 year ministers being recognized and the all prebybeters being honored
and prayed over. A choir and Praise team from Bronx Resurrection Church
played a rousing opening for the service, which had some dancing and jumping
in the aisles. It was an exciting opening for the meetings and got the crowd
prepared for the service. Tonight's service returned to it's normal venue
of our church sanctuary. The crowd was lighter tonight but still enthusiastic
for God's presence and power. Dr. George O Wood General Superintendent/
spoke again tonight and he preached on various models of pentecostal churches
today including 1). retro pentecostal, 2). Properity Gospel pentecostal
3). Nominal Pentecostal 4). Authenic Pentecostal, which he empasized
should be the model that we should be following today. He then gave an
altar call and many ministers and others responded to the call to get
closer to God and his Holy Spirit. It reminded Phil of old time days
of revivals in the pentecost movement/ where they had services every
day of week except Monday. God is still moving by his spirit today
as evidenced by these last three days at this conference. May we all
catch this fresh outporing of His Spirit in these last days.
