Phil's Notes:
Yesterday we traveled to Webster AG Church in Webster NY to attend
another Bible Quiz. The Assemblies of God has a program for teenagers
called Bible Quizzing. Various churches in Assemblies of God choose
to participate in the program. The teenagers are assigned a particular
Book of the Bible ie The Book of Mark. They then read and study and
memorize Mark until it is literally coming out of their head. They
are assigned a coach at their church who assists them reading and
studying their book and has practice session at their church with
practice questions to prepare them for their meets, which are held
periodically at various churches throughout the Lakeshore section.
They have two groups 1). A group 2). Novice group. They also have
a Junior Bible Quizzing team. The quiz matches are exciting fun filled
but serious times for the kids. The kids also seem to develop camaraderie
between each other and friendships are created along the way. The first
time I attended a match I was amazed by the kids Bible Knowledge.
Just watching them quote out scripture from memory would bring many
adult churchgoers to shame. Yesterday was the last official sectional meet
so they awarded trophy's for achievement to various leaders. Webster AG
won the award for best team for the season. Congratulations Webster AG
for all the hard work you did in studying God's word. Next up is the
NY District championships to held at Greece AG on April 4, 2009.
